Mrs. Erin's Tutoring Center
I'm not saying that homeschooling is easy. I'm saying it's worth it.
I have never heard a parent say, "I wish I would have spent less time with my children." From the time a child starts Kindergarten, there are only 13 summers until their high school graduation. Homeschooling is a wonderful way to maximize quality time with your children, raise them up in the Lord, and instill Godly character into their lives. It places the power back in the hands of parents and allows for more opportunities to pursue your children's gifts and strengths. Thankfully there are a couple ways of going about teaching your child at home.

Private School Affidavit
Did you know that you can register your home as your very own private school? You even get to name it!
You're the teacher!
A private school Affidavit allows you to homeschool your way. No government interference at all. The Link
below will lead you to more info and forms you need.

Charter Schools
These are K-12 public schools, but with the added benefit of at-home learning. Often, families are given a budget to spend on curriculum, activities, field trips and school supplies. Your child will have a homeschool teacher who will help you choose curriculum, support you, and collect your child's assignments. Links to local Charter below.

Private School Satellite Programs
The school files a PSA. You, the teacher, enroll your child in the school under their PSA, & they keep your child's records and transcripts. PSPs are added security for you and offer support to families who want to homeschool with no government interferance.

How to know which path is right for you?

PSA & PSPs Pros & Cons:
Gives parents the most freedom in homeschooling. This allows for the parents to be the teacher with the right to choose the curriculum that works for best for them. It is the responsibility of the parent to keep all student records. No gov't money accepted, no gov't say allowed. No standardized tests.
Charters Pros & Cons:
Allows for at-home learning with the help and guidance of an accredited teacher. The Charter is a public school and keeps all of your child's records and report cards. It is less restrictive than traditional brick and mortar schools and often comes with funds to cover school expenses. Children are required to take the CAASP tests for the state and standardized tests up to three times a year for the school.
Are you afraid to step out of the "brick & mortar," system? Feeling unqualified to teach?
The truth is, you are the best teacher for your children. You know everything about them. You see their strengths, natural talents and even the areas they need help in. Nobody is going to care whether or not your child succeeds more than you do. You are not going to know it all, but you can learn what you don't know together. The best part is, there is already a vast community of families homeschooling who are willing to come along side and support you every step of the way.
You'll grow closer as a family, open up more opportunities for growth and have more time to pursue the things your child is naturally good at. There are co-ops to join, local park days, and even tutoring centers. Join the thousands of us who have already taken that step to homeschool. I'm not saying its easy. I am saying its worth it.
