What is the Orton- Gilligham Approach to Reading?

In the early 1900s, Dr. Samuel Orton and Anna Gillingham, developed methods of remediation for people with reading failure and language processing.

How does it work?

It teaches the rules & patterns of reading in a systematic way. This is a multisensory approach, meaning it is tailored for kinesthetic and tactile learning styles, perfect for students with Dyslexia.  The lessons build on one another and there is consistent reinforcement of prior lessons taught.  The OG Approach is personalized and backed by 100 years of research as an effective way of teaching literacy.
