What is the Orton- Gilligham Approach to Reading?

In the early 1900s, Dr. Samuel Orton and Anna Gillingham, developed methods of remediation for people with reading failure and language processing.  These methods still work today.

How does it work?

The Orton-Gillingham Approach teaches the rules & patterns of reading and spelling in a systematic way. This is a multisensory approach, meaning we engage multiple senses at one time to teach reading, This approach is perfect for any tactile learner, including those with Dyslexia.  The lessons build on one another and there is consistent reinforcement of prior lessons taught.  The OG Approach is personalized and backed by 100 years of research as an effective way of teaching literacy.
